Tai Chi Group
Tai Chi originated in China five hundred years ago as a technique of self defence but also drawing on the long standing health practices of Qi Gong. Modern Tai Chi provides us with gentle exercises, good for our well-being, balance, posture, suppleness and ability to relax. Our group has been going for the best part of twenty years under the leadership of Jim Butterfield. Our usual routine consists of a sequence of Qi Gong and other exercises followed by work on one of the Tai Chi forms.
Due to its popularity, and the need for a second skilled leader, we currently have a waiting list, but during the summer months we meet in Riverside Gardens. With no space limitations, all U3A members are welcome, free of charge.
