ILKLEY & DISTRICT u3a
Join us for one of our regular Saturday talks.
The speaker is Professor Paul Chatterton, leading expert in Urban Futures at the University of Leeds and author of How to Save the City.
His talk invites us to look closely at the challenges facing modern cities at a time of overlapping global emergencies — from the climate crisis to housing inequality, from pressures on our natural world to the lasting impacts of Covid-19.
Cities consume three-quarters of global greenhouse gas emissions and shape many of the social and environmental issues we face today. Professor Chatterton will explore the crucial question: How can cities change — and who will lead that change?
