Walk the River Wharfe (2) Ilkley

This series of 5 walks is aimed at the casual walker or those wanting to explore a new environment at a safe gentle pace with stops to enjoy the views. Book on one walk or book on them all!

The Three Bridges Walk with an Extension!

Walking at a gentle pace we will leave The Riverside Hotel and follow the River Wharfe downstream. After crossing the Suspension Bridge our return route will take us through East and West Holmes Fields to the Old Bridge. We will continue on to Nessfield Road before re-joining the riverside footpath back to the Old Bridge and the Riverside Gardens.

Most of the route will be on hard surfaces.

The return route from Nessfield Road following the river back to the Old Bridge has stretches of uneven surfaces. The path can be muddy during wet weather. To avoid this section of the walk, walkers can terminate the walk after leaving West Holmes Field and return to the Riverside Gardens via the old Bridge.

Please wear comfortable, appropriate footwear for the terrain, and appropriate clothing for the weather on the day. You may wish to carry a cold drink with you.

Parking is available in the Riverside Gardens Car park and Bridge Lane (pay & display). The nearest bus stops are on Skipton Road.
