This series of 5 walks is aimed at the casual walker or those wanting to explore a new environment at a safe gentle pace with stops to enjoy the views. Book on one walk or book on them all!
A stroll along the River Wharfe in Otley from Otley Bridge to and around Gallows Hill Nature Reserve and back via the Riverside Walk.
The walk will conclude with an optional fish and chip lunch at The Wharfe Fish and Chip café, Bridge Street. (To pay on the day)
Care must be taken when crossing the zebra crossing on Bridge Street as drivers are frequently unaware and there has been a fatality.
The walk is on good, mainly level paths. Paths in the nature reserve can become a little muddy after rain, therefore appropriate footwear needed. Part of the path to the Nature Reserve is alongside the river where there are steep drops at the edge. Extreme care must be taken.
Coffee and Biscuits prior to start of walk. Upstairs venue. Five steps down to Bridge Street from venue.
Fish and Chip lunch to be paid for at venue
Distance 2.17 miles
Time 2 hours
We will be using the u3a audio tour guide system so please bring your own headphones. Any that use a standard 3.5 mm jack plug, often provided with portable music players or mobile phones will work.
If you do not have suitable headphones, a set can be purchased on the day for £3.
