Visit to Darlington Hopetown and National Railway Museum Shildon

An opportunity to take up spare places on an all-day coach trip being run by our Railway Group. Departure Silsden 8am and picking up at various points to Otley.

Stop off Scotch Corner services before 10:30 arrival at Hopetown.

Tea / coffee biscuits on arrival during which we have a talk about the recent developments on the site followed by a tour of the North End Station Museum. There will also be time to explore the rest of the site including P2 locomotive construction. Bring a picnic lunch or buy something in the café. Select here for more information about Hopetown.

Coach departs for Shildon c. 1:30 pm arriving 2 pm. Self-guided tour of the exhibits and associated site as it celebrates the 200th anniversary of the Stockton to Darlington Railway. Select here for more information.

Leaving Shildon around 4 pm. So back home by 6:30 to 7 pm.

Cost, including coach, driver tip, tea and coffee on arrival at Darlington, cost of Hopetown tour and donation to NRM is £35. Unfortunately refunds on cancellation are only possible if we are able to fill your place with another applicant.

Once we have your registration, we will send you an email confirmation with details of how to pay and asking where you would like to pick up the coach. The choices are Silsden, Addingham, Ilkley, Burley and Otley.
