Mary Holmes will talk about one of Britain's leading campaigners for women's suffrage - Elizabeth Wolstenhome-Elmy (1833-1918).
Born in Greater Manchester, Elizabeth was a teacher, essayist, poet and organiser in the suffrage movement. A friend and colleague of Emmeline Pankhurst she was a member of Women's Social and Political Union's executive committee. In the 1911 Coronation Procession, watching from a balcony, she was dubbed 'England's oldest' suffragette.
