Two linked illustrated lectures: 18 July and 25 July 10:00 to 12:00 The first will look at the artistic achievements of and personal relationship between Janey Morris and Dante Gabriel Rossetti and their impact on William Morris. The second will examine the art and architectural criticism of John Ruskin particularly his understanding of Turner, the Pre-Raphaelites and Venetian architecture. His views on women, industrialism and nature will also be discussed. Tea and coffee will be provided at both events by Silsden Town Hall. A cash contribution to the Town Hall to cover refreshments would be appreciated. (STH is a registered charity, not local government owned.) The venue is fully accessible.
