4 weekly sessions of 90 minutes (10:30 to 12:00):

  • Wednesday 17 July;
  • Tuesday 23 July
  • Wednesday 31 July
  • Wednesday 7 August

Talk and presentation (with accompanying music) on the history of the Motown record label, covering the "golden period" from early 1960's to mid-1970's.

Although it is preferable that people attend every session, the sessions are stand alone, and so it is not essential to attend every one.

The four sessions are:-

  1. Introduction to Motown and its founder, key points in its history and what makes the Motown sound
  2. Key Motown artists
  3. Key Motown songwriters
  4. Backroom staff and summary

There is no break for refreshments as each session lasts around an hour. Please either arrive early to purchase something from the cafe or why not stay behind for a natter over a drink in the cafe?
