Short Course: Ilkley in the Second World War

27th September, 4th October, 11th October, 18th October.




The actions of Ilkley men and women who went to war in the Home Front or overseas are examined entirely from accounts of their work and exploits in the pages of the Ilkley Gazette. Reference will be made to Ilkley men in the army fighting in Europe, North Africa and Burma etc; naval personnel in the Pacific, Atlantic, English Channel and Mediterranean and the RAF in Fighter Command, Coastal command and Bomber Command.

No charge, but attendees are expected to buy a drink from the bar.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a notepad. Handouts will be provided at each session.
