Stuart Hyde QPM served 30 years in all aspects of policing. In every rank from Constable to Chief Constable he had an impact locally, nationally and internationally. He will be giving an account of some of the highs and lows including his own scrapes with authority and disorder as well as his impact in issues of national importance. As a police lead and innovator in all things cyber, as well as facing many emotional and physical challenges, he will provide an open and reflective insight into the roles, and people he has faced, and worked with, as well as anecdotes that will be humorous as well as informative.
Stuart has lived in Ilkley since 1997 and is the Chair of the Clarke Foley Centre, he has spent the last 4 years working with national charities to improve collaboration in crisis within the UK and instigated the creation of the National Emergencies Trust and the Voluntary and Community Sector Emergencies Partnership both of which have been invaluable in the response to Covid.
Under current Covid guidance there is no need to book - just turn up on the day. As before, seating will be at individual tables. Please wear face coverings except when eating or drinking and maintain social distancing when moving around and we will aim to maximise ventilation in the room.
Entrance is £2 and includes tea or coffee and a biscuit served from 10.00 with the talk starting promptly at 10.30.
