This talk by Ian Condliffe will cover the importance of blanket bogs for carbon retention and capture, how and why their function has reduced over the past 100 years and what we are doing to restore bogs for the above benefits and biodiversity. Ian will finish with a short summary of the works being done on Ilkley moor this spring and summer for bog restoration and slowing the flow.
