Many of us will have visited St. Pancras Station in London. Some will have joined a memorable U3A day trip in 2015 when we had an excellent guided tour of the station and the surrounding area.

No one can fail to be impressed with the architecture and the care taken in the restoration of this magnificent station. But do you know why the station was built here in the first place and why it was built on such a grand scale?

This talk looks back to the early history when there was a daily service to St. Pancras from Ilkley. It also looks at the long period of decline and near destruction, finally telling the story of its rebirth as St. Pancras International.

This is not just for Railway enthusiasts. There is something for everyone. The presentation will be recorded for those unable to make the live event.
