Ilkley & District U3A Facebook page

January 2020

We have recently launched a Facebook page for Ilkley & District U3A. The idea is to publicise the U3A’s various groups and activities in the local area. As well as attracting new members, this is another way in which we can keep existing members informed about what’s going on.

This is an additional channel of communication. You’ll still receive the regular News Flashes and The Eye newsletter, and you can still visit the website for information.

Why a Facebook page?

• The Facebook page helps us to spread the word about Ilkley & District U3A:

• We can reach both members and non-members to tell them what’s going on.

• It’s easy for people to share information about our groups and activities with their Facebook friends.

• Social media is a good way for us to reach the next generation of U3A members.

• Having a presence on Facebook helps us to attract more visitors to our website, where they’ll find full details of Ilkley & District U3A’s groups and events.

How to use the page

If you have a Facebook account, please ‘Like’ Ilkley & District U3A using the button at the top of the page.

You are more likely to see our posts on Facebook if you:

1. ‘Like’ posts from Ilkley & District U3A
2. Comment on our posts
3. Share our posts with your Facebook friends

This will also help us to spread the word about Ilkley & District U3A to others who are on Facebook.
