The outstanding contribution made to our U3A by Angie Grain and Gunilla Vriesendorp was acknowledged at a recent awards ceremony, when they were presented with Ilkley Town Volunteer Awards by the Mayor, Councillor Stephen Butler. Both served for many years on the Management Committee, Angie as Groups Coordinator and Gunilla as Membership Secretary. During this time they oversaw an exponential growth in the number of groups and members. When she stood down from our Committee last year Angie became a member of the regional Yorkshire & Humberside Committee whilst Gunilla continues to help us with IT support for the website. In her absence, Gunilla's award was received on her behalf by Sue Butler.
