Description:

The aim of the group is to enjoy making new friends whilst participating in interesting visits to northern towns, learning more about their history, architecture, industry or other points of interest.

From March to October group members organise visits to such towns as Hawes, Thirsk, Bury, Otley, York, Ripon, Bradford, Leeds, Dewsbury and many more. We use personal expertise or  local guides. In January and February we enjoy indoor presentations, often from our own members and in November we meet for a pre Christmas lunch.

Our visits benefit from the u3a tour guide system that has helped everyone to hear the various guides and has proved particularly beneficial to those who no longer hear as well as they once did! Do join us. We’re sure you’ll have fun!
