Name: |
Rangers Walking Group |
|
Description: |
The Rangers Walking Group is an off-shoot of the Striders Walking Group, and so meets every other Thursday, to dovetail with Striders. Whilst that is its origins, membership of Rangers is open to all. The walks will be 10 to 14 miles, have not more than 3,000 feet of cumulative ascent and walked at a medium to fast pace (c. 2mph / 3kph, which includes coffee and lunch stops). Rangers walks are normally within a 1 hour drive of Ilkley. We normally stop at a café after the walk. All members will be expected to lead a walk (generally annually), but only after having been a member of the group for a year. Leading can be done by individuals or two people, particularly as support for a member who hasn't led before (it's not very hard!). |
