Martin Wolf is the chief economics commentator at the Financial Times. The aim of our course is to respond to his question “Is there a crisis in democratic capitalism?” and equip you with the tools to come to an answer. These will include an understanding of basic concepts like Capitalism and GDP. We will use a range of resources including Ted Talks, books, podcasts and our own discussion groups. Details of these will be provided before the course starts. We hope that some members, either on their own or with one or two others, will be motivated to research certain issues outside our meetings in order to inform the discussions within our meetings. |
