Architecture Appreciation

Description:

Architecture Appreciation was formed in 2016 to continue a programme that had run successfully since 2002. The sessions are interactive, largely self-taught and learning from within the membership on themes and subjects they have selected.  The programme is supplemented by visiting speakers and visits.  We have had presentations on a wide range of subjects including structural engineering, Wren churches, Arts & Crafts houses, Frank Lloyd Wright, John Carr and Ilkley Design & Conservation Awards. Visits have included Hull, Bradford Cathedral, Little Germany, Victoria Gate in Leeds and Farnley Hall.

Venue:

Friends Meeting House, Queen's Road,  Ilkley.

Times:

Normally the first and third Mondays from October to March for 12 sessions in the Meeting House, with visits arranged in addition between April and September.  Starting on Monday 5 October 2020 at  2pm for 12 two hour classroom sessions; ending on Monday 22 March 2021. 

Cost:  £12 for meetings.  Visits charged separately

Maximum number of places is 42 in the meetings.
