Gorizia - a city once divided, a city of culture Jenny Reynolds:
Gorizia, on the border of Italy and Solvenia has a long history and during the cold war became a divided City. Jenny will talk about that time, the frontier and the Smuggling Museum and many other things. In 2025, Gorizia became the European City of Culture and many of the events during that year were designed to break down barriers and unite the city's populations.
Jenny Reynolds retired from teaching at Bradford College in 2011. She taught, mainly, English to speakers of other languages. She has been a member of several language groups in the Bradford area for about thirty years. She has travelled quite widely in the northern Italian and Slovenian areas and has done a lot of work for children's charities.
At one time she was a volunteer with Bradford Street Angels where she was occasionally able to use my knowledge of languages to help people in difficulties in the city centre.
