Last of the Summer Wine? - Alcohol and Older Adults presented by Richard Cyster

This presentation will begin with a very short “myth or fact” quiz about alcohol. A copy of this will be sent with the joining instructions so you can think about your response. Zoom has a facility that only totals the responses so it is quite anonymous.

Alcohol has been part of the lives of the human species for thousands of years, as have the problems arising from its use and misuse. This presentation will examine the role of drink in our lives as we grow older, the difficulties it can cause and the responses available.

Richard Cyster is currently chair of Harrogate u3a. Prior to retirement, he worked with alcohol misuse and the other addictions for over 30 years. His last job was concerned with setting up a project to identify and respond to alcohol problems among the over 60s.
