A presentation by u3a member John Rhodes

I have spent some of my time in lockdown sorting a vast collection of photographs and have been providing friends and family with a weekly film show by email. As I write  these notes just before Christmas, we are up to week 39!

The images on this presentation provide an historic record because all were taken on Kodachrome and Fuji film in 1959-62 during my time as government medical officer. The films have been scanned in to my computer and are now in a format to be shared via Zoom. The collection starts with a round the island photographic view, followed by images of weather, flowers, industry, housing, churches and the celebration of independence.

Much has changed in Jamaica since then (maybe in the rest of the world too!).

Forget our dreary winter and social distancing. Time travel to Jamaica, Book here:
