Having spent many years trekking in the Himalayan mountains my wife and I decided we would take a trip to Nepal to view the gorgeous scenery, view some of my favourite places and spend time with the people, staying in a tourist village.
Over the years I've made a number of friends and encouraged by them in April 2015 we flew out to Kathmandu, We spent time in the capital city, flew to the second city Pokhara, and travelled to the south of the country to the birth place of Buddha and on to the Indian border.
On our way there an earthquake struck, we were isolated, and eventually the only flight available flew us back to the capital where we spent 3 days. During this time we had an experience we'll never forget.
The talk illustrates the Himalayan mountains, explains the earthquake, and describes the sheer destruction of this fascinating country of Nepal.
